About the position

The Early Head Start Teacher position at BakerRipley involves serving as a teacher in a classroom dedicated to infants and toddlers, focusing on planning, implementing, and supervising all center-based activities. The teacher will work collaboratively with an integrated team to achieve the program's goals, ensuring that all activities are developmentally appropriate and cater to the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of the children. In this role, the teacher is responsible for creating a safe, healthy, and well-managed environment that adapts to the changing needs of infants and toddlers. This includes developing and implementing individualized goals for each child, which are tailored to their specific needs and developmental stages. The teacher will also be required to screen, observe, and document student progress using the GOLD online assessment system, maintaining accurate records of child observations, lesson plans, attendance, and parent participation. Establishing consistent and supportive relationships with both the infants/toddlers and their families is a key aspect of this position. The teacher will encourage parental involvement in the Early Head Start Program, scheduling home visits and parent-teacher conferences as necessary. Collaboration with the Early Head Start Mentor Teacher is essential for effective planning and implementation of the curriculum. Responsibilities

  • Plan and provide developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for infants and toddlers.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in an infant and toddler classroom setting.
  • Child Development Associate Certification (CDA) preferred.
  • Associates degree or higher in Education preferred.
