About the position

The Early Intervention Service Coordinator (EISC) position is crucial for supporting children in the NC Infant-Toddler Program and their families. EISCs work to develop Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to assess families' needs for services. They conduct home visits, coordinate various early intervention services, and facilitate transitions to other services as children reach age three. The role emphasizes the importance of the birth-to-three period in child development and learning, providing flexibility for telework and a hybrid workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Develop functional Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) with families and team members.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to assess families' needs for supports and services.
  • Conduct home visits to families.
  • Coordinate services such as speech and physical therapy.
  • Arrange and monitor other early intervention services.
  • Plan for transition to other services at age three.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children aged 0 - 8 and their families, including those with developmental delays.
  • Knowledge of young child development and developmental milestones.
  • Experience collaborating with families and other professionals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for working with young children and families, such as natural learning environment practices and caregiver coaching.
  • Fluency in a second language.
