About the position

The Early Intervention Specialist will work with preschool-aged children, specifically those aged 3-4 years, to provide intervention services that align with their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. This role emphasizes collaboration with fellow educators and the implementation of effective teaching strategies within the children's natural learning environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide intervention services to preschool-aged children in accordance with IEP goals.
  • Implement a push-in model, actively engaging children within their natural learning environment.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers to foster a supportive and creative learning environment.
  • Utilize behavior techniques to support children's learning and development.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation using the SOAP note model.
  • Collect and analyze data on treatment outcomes to inform progress reports.
  • Regularly communicate progress to parents and team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders, Child Development, or related fields (Required).
  • 1 year of experience working with preschool age students (Required).
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with other teachers.
  • Creativity and an engaging teaching style to captivate young minds.
  • Strong documentation skills using the SOAP note model.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with behavior techniques for children in the 3-4 age group is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish.
