About the position

The Early Intervention Specialist will provide educational services to children aged birth to three years who have developmental delays or disabilities, while also supporting their families. This role involves collaboration with other professionals and participation in Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) meetings, ensuring accurate documentation and fulfilling related tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Provide home and community-based educational services to children with developmental delays or disabilities.
  • Support families as outlined in the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  • Collaborate with service coordinators, therapists, and interpreters to support children and families.
  • Participate in IFSP meetings and complete joint visits with other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation as required by the program and state funding agency.
  • Perform other related tasks or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Early Childhood Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development/Family Studies, Elementary Education, or a closely related field.
  • One year of experience with young children and their families, including practicum, internship, or volunteer work.
  • If the degree is in a related field, a minimum of three years of documented experience working with children with disabilities aged 0-5 years and their families.
  • Valid TN driver's license and reliable transportation with vehicle insurance coverage.

Nice-to-haves

  • One year of work experience with young children with disabilities and their families, providing home visits.
  • Experience conducting and interpreting early childhood assessments.
  • Early Childhood Special Education certification preferred.
