About the position

The Early Intervention Specialist at KDC plays a crucial role in providing family-centered services to support children aged 0-3 years. This position involves collaborating with a team of pediatric specialists to address the individual needs of children through education, training, and support. The role emphasizes flexibility in scheduling to accommodate home visits and family interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with families to identify each child's strengths and developmental needs
  • Develop an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) in collaboration with families
  • Work closely with a transdisciplinary team on program planning and delivery of services
  • Oversee case management and referral services for assigned caseload
  • Conduct home visits to provide developmental stimulation, parent training, and support
  • Facilitate parent/child and/or child groups
  • Complete reports of assessments, progress reports, IFSPs, and discharge summaries
  • Maintain communication with physicians, clinics, and community agencies involved in each child's care
  • Provide information to parents to help them make informed decisions regarding their child's progress

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant fields such as Early Intervention, Child Development, Education, Psychology, or Special Education
  • 300+ hours of experience with children under the age of 5 years
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds alone and 51+ pounds with assistance or adaptive equipment
  • Ability to tolerate significant amounts of walking, standing, and sitting
