About the position

Apostles Learning Center is looking for a dedicated Early Preschool Assistant Teacher to support the lead teacher in fostering a nurturing and educational environment for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. This full-time position involves implementing activities that promote the holistic development of children, adhering to established educational standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in implementing an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child.
• Supervise and manage daily class functions for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old.
• Observe and adhere to all health, safety, and care regulations for children.
• Maintain a clean and attractive classroom that encourages exploration and decision-making.
• Handle housekeeping duties for the classroom, common areas, and playgrounds.
• Attend all required staff meetings, workshops, and school functions.
• Maintain a professional personal appearance.
• Assist in other capacities as determined necessary by the Director or designee.

Requirements

• High school diploma or higher degree.
• Previous experience in a teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
• Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. for child handling and safety.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in childcare for at least 2 years.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
