About the position

The EARTH Project Manager will oversee project management, data collection, publicity, and reporting for the Environmentally Applied Refrigerant Technology Hub (EARTH). This role involves managing budgets, timelines, and project milestones, while ensuring alignment with the center's goals. The Project Manager will coordinate activities across multiple projects, prepare annual reports, and assist in proposal writing, all while adhering to safety guidelines and supporting team members, particularly students.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of EARTH projects.
  • Provide updates on budgets, timelines, and project milestones to EARTH leadership team (EARTH-LT).
  • Work with Thrust and Project Leads to build clear roadmaps and project plans, driving project execution and ensuring alignment with overall center goals.
  • Assist project teams with managing risks and bring issues to EARTH-LT that require corrective action.
  • Prepare final reports upon project completion with project leadership.
  • Coordinate activities between multiple projects.
  • Assist in the management of day-to-day operations of ERC EARTH.
  • Coordinate activities for EARTH administrative assistant and EARTH accountant.
  • Prepare annual report for NSF by coordinating and collecting information.
  • Plan and organize annual NSF site visits with the Administrative Director (AD).
  • Collaborate with EARTH team members to write and submit federal and industry-funded proposals.
  • Coordinate technical seminars and professional development topics with EARTH-LT.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering, Business Management, or closely related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of program management experience.
  • Outstanding written skills, as evidenced by application materials.
  • Proven track record of significant technical contributions, including successfully funded proposals, patents, publications, invited lectures, and awards.
  • Three years of supervisory experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Engineering/Academic Research Center program management experience.
  • Corporate program management or technology management experience.
  • Knowledge of current HVACR manufacturing processes and technology strategies.
  • Previous experience with successful scale-up or commercialization of new technology.
  • M.S. or PhD in Engineering, Business Management, or a closely related field.
