About the position

Baker Distributing Company is actively seeking a Senior Supply Chain Inventory expert to join our innovative team. This position will involve collaboration with our enterprise and Watsco subsidiaries to develop strategies and actions aimed at optimizing inventory and related activities across our wholesale supply chain network. The primary focus will be on enhancing inventory and demand planning strategies to achieve and maintain optimal customer service levels, forecasting accuracy, inventory turns, and planned financial goals. In this role, reporting to the Inventory & Demand Planning Board, the individual will emphasize change management, guidance, influence, coaching, training, education, analytics, and overall support to all Watsco enterprise subsidiaries. Key responsibilities include guiding and supporting the enterprise in achieving key corporate initiatives through supply chain metrics such as service level, forecasting accuracy, inventory level optimization, turns, and financial goals. The successful candidate will leverage enterprise tools and systems to drive continuous improvement and strategic inventory initiatives, enhancing the performance of demand planning and inventory strategy functions. The position requires strategic and proactive monitoring of inventory levels, forecasts, order cadences, seasonality, and the impact of potential supply chain disruptions. Data analysis will be utilized to support organizational goals and objectives, identifying the value-add for specific initiatives and projects, including inventory, ROI, turns, and cost to serve. The candidate will provide functional expertise related to people, processes, technology, and analytics to support all business units within the enterprise, offering strategic guidance based on analytical data results and recommendations for utilizing resources effectively. Additionally, the role involves assisting the enterprise in identifying under-performing aspects of the business and formulating strategies to improve results. Maintaining successful partnerships with subsidiaries to enhance customer service is crucial, as is providing ad-hoc data analysis for key executives as needed. Success in this role will require excellent organizational and prioritization skills, strong decision-making abilities, and a high level of communication proficiency to effectively present findings and results.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Computer Science or related area, or equivalent substantive work experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Inventory Optimization, Supply Chain Planning/Analytics, Replenishment, Forecasting.
  • High proficiency in demand planning/forecasting and data analytics/business intelligence software applications.
  • Advanced proficiency in operations of AS400.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Nice-to-haves

  • Demand Planning, Forecasting, and/or S&OP certification.
  • Previous experience managing oversight of technologically developed demand planning, replenishment, and/or inventory optimization SaaS application/platform.
  • Expertise in Business Intelligence applications (Microstrategy, SQL, data warehousing/mining).
  • Established experience training/coaching others on purchasing systems/forecasting/demand planning/analytics.
  • Prior experience with collaborative applications (Zoom, OneNote, MS Teams, Confluence, JIRA, etc.).
