About the position

The Engineering Application Specialist at Eastern Controls is a customer-facing role that combines technical expertise with sales support. This position is responsible for providing in-depth product knowledge, crafting solutions to customer challenges, and maintaining strong relationships with an assigned customer base. The specialist will work closely with the Outside Sales team and manufacturing partners to ensure exceptional customer experiences and successful project proposals.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth product and applications knowledge as well as sales support.
• Create an exceptional experience with an assigned customer base and build relationships with customers.
• Handle all quotations and responses to technical questions along with proposal development for projects.
• Interact daily with customers, inside and outside staff, and manufacturing partners.
• Act as the customer advocate for Eastern Controls and manufacturing partners.
• Advise customers on the correct solutions specific to their processes and collaborate with outside sales on pricing.
• Communicate clearly with customers from start to finish.
• Identify opportunities for supplemental or additional equipment on existing RFQs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering) or Business & Engineering (Sales, Technical Sales, Entrepreneurship), or equivalent experience preferred.
• 1-3 years' experience in a related field.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and CRM platform.
• Familiarity with the Process Industry and/or Electrical Heat Trace is a plus.
• Technical aptitude in instrumentation, gas detection, and/or valves is a major plus.
• Professional sales acumen with a focus on business development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
