About the position

The Eating Disorder Technician (ED Tech 1) at Center for Discovery plays a crucial role in supporting patients throughout their treatment journey, from admission to discharge. This position focuses on ensuring patient safety, facilitating psychoeducational groups, and providing daily support to patients in various activities. The role emphasizes effective communication with patients and their families, as well as collaboration with the treatment team to enhance the overall treatment experience.

Responsibilities

• Supports patient during admission processes, including checking in belongings and acclimating them to the program.
• Effectively communicates with families and loved ones as appropriate.
• Assists patients in daily activities such as waking routines, hygiene, meals, and evening routines.
• Provides milieu management and communicates with team members throughout the treatment experience.
• Engages in brief check-ins to support patients in using coping skills.
• Facilitates psychoeducational groups as per the program schedule.
• Documents patient progress accurately on a daily basis.

Requirements

• One year of experience in mental health treatment or a Bachelor's degree (preferred).
• Must possess a current driver's license and be in good standing.

• Experience in a residential treatment setting.
