About the position

The Eating Disorder Technician (ED Tech 1) plays a crucial role in supporting patients throughout their treatment journey at Center for Discovery. This position focuses on ensuring patient safety, facilitating psychoeducational groups, and providing daily support to patients in various activities. The ED Tech 1 is integral to the treatment planning process, contributing valuable insights and fostering a supportive environment for recovery.

Responsibilities

• Supports patient during admission processes, including checking in belongings and acclimating them to the program.
• Effectively communicates with families and loved ones as appropriate.
• Assists patients in daily activities such as waking routines, hygiene, meals, and free time.
• Provides milieu management and communicates with team members throughout the treatment experience.
• Engages in brief check-ins to support patients in using coping skills.
• Facilitates psychoeducational groups as per the program schedule.
• Documents patient progress accurately on a daily basis.

Requirements

• One year of experience in mental health treatment or a Bachelor's degree (preferred).
• Possess a current driver's license and be in good standing.
