About the position

The EB Account Manager at USI Holdings Corporation is responsible for managing Employee Benefits insurance accounts, serving as the primary contact for clients and insurance carriers. This role involves providing personalized support, managing the renewal process, and implementing recommended programs while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The position requires proactive communication and the ability to develop strategies for client account growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a book of business comprised of fully insured clients and some self-insured clients.
  • Provide proactive, personalized support to assigned clients and act as the primary contact between clients and insurance carriers.
  • Prepare materials for client meetings and educate clients on compliance topics such as ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, and Health Care Reform.
  • Set up new group insurance contracts for existing or new clients.
  • Manage the renewal process and prepare appropriate contractual changes.
  • Implement and manage programs recommended by technical resources, including wellness and communication strategies.
  • Market and place new benefit products, prepare client applications, analyze carrier quotes, and make recommendations.
  • Develop alternative strategies, plan modeling, and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Champion client cross-selling initiatives and develop customer accounts.
  • Conduct on-site meetings to communicate or administer benefit plans.
  • Coordinate, manage, and attend client meetings both virtually and in person.
  • Develop employee communications for renewal changes, enrollment procedures, and benefit clarifications.
  • Provide resolution support and oversight for client issues such as contract clarifications and billing.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years experience in the employee benefits industry or related marketplace.
  • Prior customer service experience is preferred.
  • Must hold or be willing to earn a life and disability insurance license.
  • Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
  • Keep informed about industry information, technology, and trends.
  • Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
