About the position

The EBI Database Developer II- Safety, Quality and Patient Experience at Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus in Cleveland, OH, plays a crucial role in supporting the overall database needs of the Clinic. This position involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing MS SQL and Teradata databases and applications for internal purposes and customer reporting. The developer will work collaboratively within a team of database developers, software developers, and business analysts to deliver database analytics and web-based applications. Key responsibilities include administering existing databases, analyzing, designing, and creating new databases, performing data modeling, and optimizing database performance. The developer will be responsible for interpreting and writing complex code, proactively monitoring systems for optimal performance, and addressing capacity constraints. Additionally, the role involves designing, implementing, and supporting ETL processes and batch scripts, as well as working on the physical and logical design of database architecture. The EBI Database Developer II will also develop and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports, establish database development standards, documentation, and best practices, and manage the division server. The position requires handling multiple projects while supporting existing production databases and processes, performing support, development, and administrative activities, and providing on-call duty as required to support department applications 24/7. This is a hybrid position, allowing for some telecommuting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance MS SQL and Teradata databases and applications for internal purposes and customer reporting.
  • Administer existing databases and analyze, design, and create new databases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or foreign equivalent as determined by credentials evaluation.
  • Three (3) years of experience in database development (MS SQL or Teradata).
  • Experience must include building and maintaining Tableau dashboards and the physical and logical design of database architecture.
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or foreign equivalent can offset two (2) years of the stated experience requirement.
