About the position

The IT Systems Engineer position at General Dynamics Electric Boat involves working within the Information Technology (EBIT) Department to analyze business software and processes, translate business needs into system requirements, and collaborate with software development teams to implement innovative solutions. The role requires a flexible and analytical candidate who can manage project schedules, resources, and budgets while ensuring high-quality software deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and learn business software and processes.
• Understand and translate business needs into system requirements.
• Investigate data to understand and document issues/enhancements.
• Work with various software development teams to drive implementation of innovative software solutions.
• Drive cross functional teams and challenge the status quo.
• Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets.
• Utilize verification and validation techniques to ensure software deliverables are high quality and meet customer needs.
• Provide IT SME support toward highly visible or critical production issues.

Requirements

• Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Computer related technologies, or Applied Mathematics
• Experience in requirements gathering and documentation
• Ability to perform work in a hybrid virtual environment.
