About the position

The ECAD Application Engineer at Arista Networks is responsible for building engineering tools and processes related to Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Product Data Management (PDM). This role requires expertise in electrical CAD (ECAD) tools to support the Electrical Engineering community, ensuring effective use and integration of these tools within the organization. The engineer will stay updated on industry trends and work closely with tool vendors to enhance tool functionality and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for end users utilizing strong problem-solving skills and tool expertise.
• Evaluate new features and functions available within existing or potential ECAD tools to assess their benefits.
• Collaborate with ECAD tool vendors to resolve issues with vendor-supplied code and advocate for enhancements and bug fixes.
• Promote and drive the adoption of ECAD tools through process development and training.
• Define best practices through documentation and requirements definition for the development of ECAD automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience identifying engineering use-cases and defining requirements for software development.
• Expertise in CAD tools such as Cadence Schematic Capture tools, Cadence Allegro, Cadence Pulse, Cadence ACC, Cadence Skill Programming, Perforce, Egnyte, Agile.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with programming languages such as Python, Golang, C/C++, TCL, JSON, MySQL.
• Familiarity with operating systems like Linux and Windows NT.
