About the position
The Cardiac Sonographer role at FirstHealth of the Carolinas involves conducting advanced cardiac ultrasounds for both adult and pediatric patients. The position is part of a progressive team dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to patients and their families. The role requires technical expertise in various echocardiography techniques and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct cardiac ultrasounds on adult and pediatric patients using 2D/3D echocardiography, m-mode, color flow/doppler mapping, stress echocardiography, UEA imaging, Global Strain Analysis, TEE, and structural heart assist when appropriate.
- Collect and evaluate clinical data, recognizing life-threatening findings and reporting them to the appropriate reading physicians in a timely manner.
- Participate in on-call duties on a rotating basis, with specific responsibilities for the Hoke campus requiring at least 1 year of experience.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher level required.
- BLS certification required.
- Formal training in Diagnostic Cardiac Ultrasound required.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification required.
- New graduates are welcome and will undergo departmental screening and testing.
