About the position

The Staff Sonographer at Scotland Memorial Hospital is responsible for performing sonographic examinations on patients of all ages, focusing on cardiovascular ultrasound procedures. This role requires collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers to obtain diagnostic quality studies and patient history, ensuring accurate diagnostic correlation. The position is PRN, requiring flexibility to work scheduled and on-call hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform sonographic examinations for all ages as requested by the Physician/Provider.
• Conduct a variety of cardiovascular ultrasound procedures including ETTS, TEES, and Stress echos.
• Obtain patient history and appropriate clinical data to aid in diagnostic correlation.
• Work scheduled and on-call hours as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of AMA accredited Sonography program or equivalent.
• Eligible for or possession of a valid Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification.
• 1 to 3 years of experience as a sonographer preferred.
• Experience with ultrasound equipment, specifically Phillips (iE33 and EPIQ).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to foster a teamwork environment.
