About the position
The Echo Technologist (PRN) at Community Health Network is responsible for providing ultrasound diagnostic tests for patients under physician supervision. This role involves performing various types of echocardiograms and maintaining ultrasound equipment, contributing to the cardiovascular testing department's mission of delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provides ultrasound diagnostic tests for patients under physician supervision.
- Performs 2-D/Doppler/Colorflow ultrasound as directed by the physician.
- Conducts transesophageal echo, stress Echos, and contrast Echos.
- Schedules patients and explains procedures to them.
- Positions patients and selects the appropriate transducer for imaging.
- Maintains ultrasound equipment and ensures it is in good working condition.
- Orders and stocks ultrasound supplies as needed.
Requirements
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology to pinpoint areas of imaging.
- Skills in operating ultrasound equipment effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and medical staff.
- Ability to adapt easily and appropriately apply guidelines and procedures.
- Demonstrated teamwork and strong communication skills.
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Must be registered through ARDMS or CCI; those without Echo registration must secure it within 18 months of entering the job.
