About the position
The Echocardiograph Technologist is responsible for performing clinical diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures for patients of all ages, from infants to geriatrics. This role involves working under the direction of the Department Director and the supervision of the Cardiac Cath Lab Manager, ensuring adherence to department standards. The technologist also serves as a customer service representative, participates in quality control, and acts as a clinical resource for less experienced sonographers.
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures according to department standards.
- Serve as a customer service representative to patients, families, and medical staff.
- Participate in quality control and organizational improvement activities.
- Act as a clinical/technical resource for less experienced sonographers.
Requirements
- Graduate of a program in cardiac echocardiography approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association or equivalent training.
- National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hire.
- National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International upon hire.
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
