About the position
The ECLS-K:2024 Assessor position at Westat involves conducting in-person assessments of children and interviews with parents as part of a significant study on children's learning and development. This role requires assessors to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and to travel locally for project work. The position is part-time and non-exempt, with opportunities for overtime pay.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-person child assessments at schools or participants' homes.
- Conduct telephone or in-person parent interviews.
- Complete web-based home study parent interview training before attending in-person training.
- Work during the data collection period from March 17 to June 29, 2025.
- Maintain accurate records of school information and schedules.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years old or older (or an emancipated minor).
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Available to work at least 25-30 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
- Must have a current and valid driver's license that is not under suspension.
- Must have consistent access to a fully insured, reliable vehicle.
- Basic computer skills, including internet access and email usage.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, walk several blocks, and climb stairs while carrying equipment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Nice-to-haves

- Education-related work experience.
- Experience collecting data in a standardized manner.
- Experience working with children and/or in a school setting.
