About the position
The Ecological Analyst 1 position within the Division of Forestry at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources focuses on managing and protecting natural resources, particularly through the control of invasive plant species on private forest lands. The role involves conducting surveys, recommending treatments, promoting relevant programs, and representing the division at public events. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about the outdoors and ecological conservation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct surveys of invasive plants on private forest lands
- Recommend and monitor treatments for invasive plant control
- Promote farm bill programs for private forest lands
- Represent the division of forestry at public events
- Utilize GIS mobile and desktop software to input forest management data
Requirements
- Completion of undergraduate core program in biological science (e.g., botany, zoology, ecology, forestry) or natural resources; valid driver's license
- 24 months of experience in an ecological position; valid driver's license
- Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above
