About the position

The Ecological Analyst 1 position at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources focuses on conducting surveys and managing invasive plant species on private forest lands. This role is essential for promoting sustainable forestry practices and ensuring the health of Ohio's natural resources. Responsibilities

  • Conduct surveys of invasive plants on private forest lands.
  • Recommend and monitor treatments for invasive plant control.
  • Promote farm bill programs for private forest lands.
  • Represent the Division of Forestry at public events.
  • Utilize GIS mobile and desktop software to input forest management data.

Requirements

  • Completion of undergraduate core program in biological science (e.g., botany, zoology, ecology, forestry) or natural resources; valid driver's license.
  • 24 months of experience in an ecological position; valid driver's license.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with GIS software.
  • Knowledge of forestry practices and invasive species management.
