The Economic Development Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the County's Economic Development department by performing a variety of professional and technical duties. This position involves researching, designing, implementing, and monitoring programs that promote economic development, including data gathering for projects, GIS mapping, and economic data research. The coordinator will work closely with various stakeholders to identify business needs, prepare reports, and assist with grant writing and compliance.

  • Assist with economic projects, marketing, and researching information to implement economic development plans including labor market data.
  • Work closely with staff members and economic development leaders to determine business needs, schedule meetings, and prepare reports with strategic analysis.
  • Identify funding sources and assist with grant writing and compliance.
  • Coordinate information and data for comprehensive reports, proposals, and studies related to economic development.
  • Participate and coordinate economic and community development activities relating to business attraction, expansion, retention, and site development.
  • Follow up on assigned activities with other departments and perform a variety of professional level duties.
  • Provide economic data input into the design and production of marketing tools for professional publication.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze information for dissemination to potential business clients.
  • Develop plans and analyses for economic development related projects.
  • Assist the economic development team with projects and presentation information for county board meetings.
  • Prepare and present internal staff reports and other necessary correspondence for the economic development department.
  • Interact with the public in an effective and courteous manner.
  • Bachelor's degree in economics or closely related field, or currently pursuing such degree.
  • Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with understanding marketing, research methods, report preparation methods, and grant contract administration practices is preferred.
  • Experience with GIS mapping and economic data research.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Competitive hourly salary ranging from $20.77 to $22.84.
