About the position

The Economic Development Manager or Senior Economic Development Manager at Duke Energy is responsible for attracting and locating new businesses and industries within the Duke Energy Florida service area. This role also focuses on the retention and expansion of existing industries, preparing proposals that accurately represent Duke Energy's capabilities, and engaging with economic development leadership and community stakeholders to enhance local opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Support client management, lead generation, and site development throughout the assigned territory.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with key economic development leadership, developers, consultants, and decision-makers.
• Support economic development partners in enhancing and deploying marketing materials; participate in targeted call missions to enhance competitiveness.
• Collaborate with internal management and stakeholders to provide comprehensive overviews of Duke programs and identify target industries and sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree AND three (3) years minimum related experience for Economic Development Manager.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Accounting, Business (or equivalent) AND five (5) + years minimum related work experience for Senior Economic Development Manager, OR High School/GED degree AND ten (10)+ years related work experience in lieu of degree.
• Valid driver's license.

• Certified Economic Developer (CEcD)
• Familiarity with state and local incentive programs
• Project management skills
• Experience in business/industrial recruitment efforts
• Established relationships with State, Regional and local economic development officials
• Experience in proposal development and site selection RFI responses
• Strong technical skills/understanding of the energy industry
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
