The Economic Incentives Advisory Director will specialize in statutory credits and negotiated incentives, working closely with management on various site selection engagements that are crucial for delivering our services to the marketplace. This role involves assisting clients at every stage of a deal, from inception and initial due diligence to negotiating credits and incentives for tax-efficient transaction structuring. The position requires a deep understanding of economic incentive programs at federal, state, and local levels, and the ability to effectively communicate the value proposition of our services to clients. The director will be responsible for researching and updating incentive lists and matrices by country, state, and community, which will be utilized in client work. Additionally, the role involves creating models in Excel to estimate the value of incentive packages at various levels, researching policy and program updates for incentive programs, and writing proposals and scopes of work for business development pursuits. As a subject matter expert, the director will guide clients in their areas of specialization, ensuring that their requirements are met and that they receive the highest level of service. The position also includes coordinating the ongoing collection of operational data, consolidating and reporting trends, and assisting with the compilation and analysis of organization-level data and statistics.

Responsibilities

  • Research and update incentive lists/matrices by country, state, and community for use in client work.
  • Create models in Excel to determine estimated value of incentive packages at a country, state, and city level.
  • Research policy and program updates for incentives programs.
  • Write proposals and scopes of work for pursuit of business development.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in guiding clients in area(s) of specialization.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to convey the value proposition for services offered.
  • Coordinate ongoing collection of operational data from the department.
  • Consolidate and report trends, including variance reporting analysis.
  • Assist with compilation, recording, and analysis of organization-level data and statistics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Tax, Urban & Regional Planning, Economics, or Law.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local economic incentive programs.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint packages.
