About the position

The University of Tennessee-Oak Ridge Innovation Institute (UT-ORII) is seeking a highly qualified research faculty member to contribute to the Economics of Circular Bioeconomy Systems. This role focuses on advancing sustainability through economic analyses related to crop varieties and novel technologies aimed at enhancing biomass yields and soil health. The successful candidate will collaborate with a diverse team of researchers and will be involved in mentoring students, conducting research, and contributing to the mission of the CBS Convergent Research Initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct economic analyses related to Circular Bioeconomy Systems.
  • Collaborate on laboratory experiments and reporting.
  • Prepare and submit research proposals.
  • Support existing research projects.
  • Mentor graduate and undergraduate students.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Environmental and Resource Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with agricultural and forestry production.
  • Research experience in sustainable crop production, resource use efficiency, cost-benefit analysis, ecosystem services valuation, dynamic programming, and rural community development.
  • A track record of publications in relevant fields.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
