About the position

The ECS Program Manager I role at BAE Systems involves managing material for the ALR-56M family of programs within the Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) business area. This hybrid position requires a blend of onsite and remote work, focusing on achieving cost and schedule targets while fostering strategic partnerships and future production material planning. The successful candidate will lead project material management, ensuring timely delivery of materials and compliance with ethical standards and safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive project material management, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing on critical activities.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials required for the ALR-56M family of programs.
  • Manage system Bill Of Material (BOM) and resolve Diminishing Manufacturing Source (DMS) issues in a timely manner.
  • Actively manage supplier relationships to maintain effective program execution and future business.
  • Partner with manufacturing, engineering, quality, procurement, and finance organizations to develop and implement material management strategies.
  • Develop, coordinate, and execute program material strategies to support operations and increase affordability.
  • Measure and report on program results to senior leadership.
  • Lead and inspire the program team, fostering a culture of innovative problem solving and performance excellence.
  • Promote adherence to the company's ethical standards and ensure compliance with operational assurance frameworks.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety and security objectives.

Requirements

  • Typically a Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related discipline.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience leading program teams through all phases of the lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical and data mining skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement and manufacturing systems.
  • Working knowledge of risk and opportunity management and defense contract types.
  • Ability to collaborate within and across organizational boundaries.
  • Engaged leadership and ability to influence and negotiate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Government contracting and current acquisition trends.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Secret Clearance.
