About the position

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient/family problems and resources, taking a leadership role in the development, implementation, and outcomes evaluation of a nursing care plan.
  • Provide professional nursing care and interventions to acutely ill adult patient populations.
  • Organize and prioritize patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient.
  • Demonstrate accountability for ethical behavior and support ethical practice by addressing and/or escalating issues.
  • Serve as an advocate for patients' needs by demonstrating holistic care practices.
  • Recognize and adapt to changes in patients' conditions in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.
  • Recognize limits of scope of practice, seek multidisciplinary collaboration, utilize appropriate resources, and follow the chain of command.
  • Assume accountability for decisions made.
  • Partner with others to affect change and generate outcomes through knowledge of the patient or situation.
  • Participate as a team member by utilizing team skills effectively on a daily basis.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of ED RN nursing experience
  • ADN; BSN preferred
  • Must hold and maintain AZ or compact state RN license (RN)
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (CT ACLS) certification
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPRBLS) certification
  • American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (CT PALS) certification.
