About the position
The ED Patient Access Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient patient registration and access to services at Williamson Medical Center. This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong customer service skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare staff. The associate is responsible for obtaining accurate demographic and financial data, creating patient estimates, and resolving patient balances, all while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors promptly and courteously using AIDET principles.
- Obtain and enter accurate demographics and insurance information in a timely manner.
- Meet national productivity guidelines of 35 registrations per shift.
- Use bedside mobile cart to register patients at bedside in assigned ED areas.
- Correct registrations during assigned shift using AccuReg solution and maintain an average initial accuracy rate of 95%.
- Follow point of service collection policies and procedures.
- Perform all PBX duties timely and accurately including after-hours reports.
- Participate in departmental meetings and recommend improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three years clerical experience in a professional customer service-oriented office environment preferred.
- Experience with Meditech and patient access software.
