About the position

The ED Sitter position is a full-time role responsible for providing constant observation and basic care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The sitter ensures a safe environment for individuals who require ongoing monitoring, assisting with daily living activities and engaging in diversionary activities to support patient well-being.

Responsibilities

• Provide constant observation of patients to ensure their safety.
• Assist patients with basic care needs related to activities of daily living.
• Engage patients in diversionary activities to promote comfort and well-being.
• Recognize and respond to emergency situations appropriately.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and legal responsibilities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is preferred.
• Ability to read and write in English is necessary.
• Knowledge of standard precautions is essential.
• Ability to recognize emergency situations is required.
