About the position

The Education Specialist/Special Education Teacher at iLEAD Lancaster plays a crucial role in supporting students with diverse educational needs within a general education classroom. Reporting directly to the School Director and under the guidance of the Director of Student Support, the Education Specialist will collaborate closely with classroom teachers to ensure that all students, particularly those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), receive the specialized instruction they require. This position emphasizes the importance of building effective relationships with all members of the IEP team, including parents, teachers, and support staff, to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment. In this role, the Education Specialist is expected to be a creative innovator, bringing fresh ideas and strategies to the classroom to inspire and support the educational needs of all students. The specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized instructional plans that align with each student's IEP, ensuring that they have access to the curriculum and can achieve their academic goals. This includes adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the varying needs of students, providing direct instruction, and monitoring student progress. The Education Specialist will also engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education and to enhance their instructional skills. Collaboration with colleagues and participation in school-wide initiatives aimed at improving student outcomes will be essential components of this position. Responsibilities
