About the position

Edge Kids provides an active, upbeat, and motivating atmosphere where Fitness Meets Fun! If you have tons of energy, love kids, and love helping staff become their best, you may be the person we are looking for! The Area Lead works with our General Managers (GMs) and Area Directors, and is primarily responsible for ensuring that the Edge Kids program is executed to the high standards established by the Edge Fitness Clubs, in every class, every day. This position spends about 60% of their time teaching every day, with the balance devoted to day-to-day operations and building a top-notch team committed to providing outstanding member experience every day. The Area Lead must know and understand the Edge Kids philosophy and program, and can communicate information correctly, clearly, and professionally to parents. They will train all new hires for the company, both in Edge Kids and the club, and run GREAT kid's activities that are high energy and FUN!

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Edge Kids program is executed to high standards in every class, every day.
  • Spend approximately 60% of time teaching classes and the balance on administrative duties.
  • Train all new hires for the company in Edge Kids and the club.
  • Run engaging and high-energy activities for kids.
  • Greet parents and check in children to Edge Kids in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Support fellow staff in all areas of the Edge Fitness Clubs.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
  • Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts and events.
  • Engage and instruct children in age-appropriate games and activities according to the provided program of activities.

Requirements

  • Ability to work full-time and flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Demonstrates a 'roll up the sleeves' mentality.
  • Must have a passion for working with kids.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Committed to training and ongoing personal development and the development of your team.
  • Excellent class management skills.
  • Good work ethic; reliable, on time, and dependable.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Experience in youth programming desired.
  • Experience in exercise science desired.
  • Experience in working with children required.
