About the position

As the Associate Data/EDI Architect (ADA) at Brown & Brown, you will play a pivotal role in the National Employee Benefits Technology (EBTech) Department. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about technology and customer service, and who thrive in a collaborative environment. You will be responsible for key operational aspects, working closely with configuration teams to manage low to moderate-complex builds for our customers. Your expertise will be essential in addressing technical inquiries and ensuring that all implementations meet the established goals and quality standards. In this role, you will translate business needs into comprehensive deliverables, ensuring that the projects are executed with exceptional quality. You will serve as the principal technical lead for low to moderate complexity customers, guiding the implementation process and mentoring teammates to enhance their skills and technical expertise. Communication will be a key aspect of your role, as you will need to maintain close contact with EBTech teams and customer representatives to ensure that everyone is aligned on tasks, deadlines, and potential risks to timelines. Your responsibilities will also include raising any issues to the project manager or Director of Operations to ensure that customer expectations are met. You will apply sound judgment in executing business processes and quality standards, particularly in the development and deployment of solutions. Regular meetings with the project manager will be necessary to track project progress and address any challenges that may arise.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business needs into comprehensive deliverables with exceptional quality standards for the project.
  • Serve as the principal technical lead for low to moderate complexity customers, ensuring the progress of implementations against established goals.
  • Serve as the supervisor/mentor to teammates, building their skills as they grow into increasing roles of responsibility and technical expertise.
  • Communicate closely with EBTech teams and customer contacts throughout the implementation to ensure understanding of tasks, deadlines, and potential risks.
  • Raise appropriate issues to the project manager and/or Director of Operations to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Apply sound judgment to the execution of business processes, protocols, and quality standards in the development and deployment of solutions.
  • Meet regularly with the project manager to ensure projects are on track.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent comparable experience.
  • 4-8 years of applicable professional experience, with 3-5 years of applicable software industry experience.
  • Intermediate understanding of employee benefits programs and implementation requirements.
  • Intermediate knowledge of benefits administration software implementation, ideally obtained through a service provider or mid to large market reseller.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional/professional presentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Licensure in Life and Health Insurance or the ability to obtain a producer's license within one year of employment.
