About the position

The EDI Implementation Analyst II at Availity is a technical role focused on managing moderate to complex implementation tasks related to healthcare technology solutions. This position involves working closely with clients to ensure successful integration of systems, managing relationships with payers and vendors, and providing support throughout the implementation process. The role requires a strong understanding of healthcare claims processing and the ability to analyze and implement solutions efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Manage internal and external relationships with payers and vendors to meet integration objectives set by Program Management.
  • Create and manage documented deliverables, gaining agreement from internal and external partners.
  • Coordinate partner awareness on Availity functionality and production issues as requested by internal teams.
  • Accountable for all complexity level implementations, including submitters, partners, and vendors.
  • Manage client timelines and deliverables, issue resolution, file transmission, response reporting, testing, and results delivery based on customer requirements.
  • Conduct pre-production functional testing protocols, including creating and executing test plans for the implementation.
  • Mentor EDI Implementation Analysts to ensure timely project completion and adherence to Availity standards.
  • Interact with various internal teams to ensure requirements are met accurately and executed within expected timelines.
  • Document all information related to assigned implementations, including requirements, test plans, and escalation procedures.
  • Provide support for operational issues and assist in researching, resolving, and documenting these issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of related experience in a technology (information exchange) and/or healthcare environment.
  • 4+ years of experience managing simple to moderately complex implementations.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry, specifically claims processing systems and customer service processes.
  • Understanding of HIPAA implementation guides for claims and other transactions.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA mandated ANSI transaction formats, specifically X12 transactions such as 837P, 837I, 835, 270/271, 276/277, 278, CCR/CCD.
  • Ability to create and execute test plans and documentation such as training resources and reference materials.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and embrace change.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Submitters, Vendors, and/or Receivers/Payers.
  • Customer service and/or relationship management experience.
  • Experience in software implementations.
