V2X is seeking an experienced EDIN System Administrator to join our dynamic team in Indianapolis, IN. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the Engineering Development and Innovation Network (EDIN) management team, focusing on the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the network and its systems. This position requires a strong understanding of both Linux and Windows system administration, with a particular emphasis on Windows domain services, imaging, virtualization, and system security processes such as STIGs and general hardening. The ideal candidate will also be adept at managing endpoint devices and will possess excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interface with users. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and networks, which includes patching, updating, and configuring both Windows and Linux systems. You will manage Windows domain services, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects. Additionally, you will be involved in networking tasks such as switch management, VLAN setup, and subnetting. Your expertise in device imaging for both Linux and Windows environments will be essential, as will your familiarity with reverse proxies and remote desktop and SSH gateways. The position also requires experience in configuring and managing storage solutions, particularly SANs and NASs, with a preference for TrueNAS. You will be expected to configure and manage virtual environments and implement and maintain system security measures, including vulnerability scanning and obtaining Authorization To Operate (ATOs). Your ability to plan and design hardware architecture and system design will be critical to the success of our operations. Furthermore, you should be capable of scripting in Bash and PowerShell and have familiarity with various programming languages. Experience with software development containerization, automation, and analysis tools will also be beneficial. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to interact effectively with users and stakeholders.
