About the position

The Edit/Media Specialist at Rutgers University’s School of Social Work is responsible for enhancing the school's communications and marketing efforts through innovative solutions. This role involves managing website development, creating and managing digital and print content, and collaborating with various teams to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives. The specialist will also oversee multimedia content creation and provide event support, contributing to the overall branding and outreach of the school.

Responsibilities

  • Support communications and marketing efforts for the School of Social Work.
  • Provide innovative solutions to enhance communications and marketing plans.
  • Handle website development and maintenance, including content creation and management.
  • Manage graphic design projects and serve as project manager for various initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the communications team, development office, and faculty to support program activities.
  • Develop and maintain all SSW websites to ensure they reflect the school's brand and meet industry standards.
  • Create and disseminate visual multimedia content for print and digital platforms.
  • Provide event and conference support, including planning and staffing events.
  • Manage promotional item processes and conduct market research for offerings.
  • Assist with writing projects and manage social media platforms to grow community engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or multimedia production.
  • Prior experience using Drupal or similar content management systems.
  • Knowledge of graphic design and video/audio production tools such as Canva and Final Cut.
  • Strong creativity and marketing skills with the ability to generate varied ideas.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and details simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience managing website redesign projects.
  • Familiarity with email marketing tools like Mailchimp and Marketo.
  • Experience producing podcasts.
