About the position

The Editor/Admin Assistant at BFSA Environmental Services is responsible for editing, fact-checking, assembling, and distributing technical documents related to cultural resources for environmental review. This role also involves assisting the office manager with various administrative tasks, ensuring effective communication with team members and clients, and maintaining office organization. The position requires attention to detail, adaptability to different writing styles, and the ability to meet strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Technical document editing, fact checking, assembly, and distribution
  • Answering phones
  • Filing/document organization
  • Archiving older/complete projects
  • Mailing and delivery of documents

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in English or a related field preferred
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience formatting and editing technical documents
  • Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills, including mastery of English language, grammar, structure, and punctuation

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
  • Experience with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) criteria
