About the position

The Editor, Content position at Chico's FAS is a vital role within the growing editorial content team, focusing on creating and managing digital assets that resonate with the brand's voice and target audience. This position is primarily responsible for planning and executing content that is highly focused on digital platforms, including emails and the company website, while also assisting with social media initiatives, both paid and organic. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fashion and a creative mindset, capable of generating innovative ideas that elevate the editorial content while maintaining the brand's tone and identity. In this role, the Editor will execute the brand's voice and tone across all customer touchpoints, ensuring consistency and quality in all written materials. Responsibilities include writing copy for digital assets, assisting with the editing of social media content, and contributing to the planning and concepting of seasonal campaigns. The Editor will also be tasked with brainstorming new content approaches and staying updated on current trends in social media channels. Building strong relationships with channel owners and gaining alignment on editorial strategies with cross-functional partners will be essential for success in this position. Additionally, the Editor will conduct content audits to ensure that all materials remain fresh, relevant, and up-to-date, collaborating closely with the Senior Content Editor. This position may involve various duties across multiple departments, and the candidate should be prepared to take on other projects as assigned, showcasing flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Executes the brand voice and tone and ensures it is reflected in all customer touchpoints.
  • Takes ownership of and writes copy for digital assets, including email and site.
  • Assists with and top edits organic social copy and paid media campaign copy.
  • Assists in the planning and concepting of seasonal campaign copy.
  • Brainstorms new approaches to content and keeps tabs on what's trending in social channels.
  • Supports brand marketing and social initiatives.
  • Establishes strong relationships with channel owners.
  • Gains alignment on editorial and messaging strategies monthly with cross functional partners.
  • Executes content audits to keep content fresh, relevant, and updated in partnership with Sr Content Editor.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required, preferably in Journalism, Communication, English, or Liberal Arts.
  • 3-5 years of fashion editorial and/or copywriting experience at a publication, retailer and/or agency.
  • Exceptional writing, grammar, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Portfolio of highly creative work.
  • MAC proficiency including Adobe Suites and Microsoft Office and can easily adapt to content management systems.
  • Strong project management skills and sense of urgency for deadlines.
  • Strong grasp of how to use different online platforms for applicable content and copy.
  • Keen eye for copy/art relationship.
  • Highly collaborative, flexible, and creative.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and leadership thinking.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
