About the position

The Politics Editor at Fox News Digital is responsible for leading the editorial direction and content generation related to political news across various digital platforms. This role involves collaborating with a team of editors and reporters to break news, conduct exclusive interviews, and provide insightful analyses, all while maintaining a high standard of editorial quality under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Deputy Managing Editor, Politics and other editorial leaders on newsgathering and story advancement.
• Provide insights on story angles, exclusive interviews, and original content.
• Collaborate on short-term and long-term editorial projects and series.
• Develop interesting Politics story angles and ideas for digital content.
• Engage with the Politics and News desk on story advancement through new interviews.
• Lead trainings and create best practices for the editorial team.
• Write and edit content under tight deadlines when necessary.
• Monitor news and social media for breaking news and trending items.
• Collaborate with FOX News Channel and other FOX News Media colleagues.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience in the political and news environment.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in reviewing and analyzing data and taking action.
• Extensive Rolodex of contacts and sources for original reporting.
• Experience in managing and mentoring team members.
• Familiarity with political issues, players, and events.
• Excellent editorial judgment and knowledge of current events and politics.
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment under pressure.
• Flexibility to work on holidays and under emergency conditions.
• Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects.
• Positive and collaborative attitude with strong communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize across multiple workstreams.
• Problem-solving skills and understanding of audience dynamics.
