About the position

The Politics Editor at Fox News Digital will play a crucial role in shaping political content across various platforms. This position involves collaborating with editorial teams to generate story ideas, conduct interviews, and provide insights that drive the conversation in political news. The ideal candidate will leverage their extensive network of sources to break news and deliver exclusive content, all while working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Deputy Managing Editor, Politics and other editorial leaders on newsgathering and story advancement.
• Provide insights on story angles, exclusive interviews, and original content.
• Collaborate closely with Managing Editor, Politics on editorial projects and series.
• Develop interesting Politics story angles and ideas for Digital platforms.
• Engage with Politics and News desk on story advancement through new interviews.
• Lead trainings and create best practices for the editorial team.
• Write and edit content under tight deadlines when necessary.
• Monitor news and social media for breaking news and trending items.
• Collaborate with FOX News Channel and other FOX News Media colleagues.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience in the political and news environment.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with reviewing and analyzing data and taking action.
• Extensive Rolodex of contacts and sources for original reporting.
• Experience in managing and mentoring team members.
• Familiarity with political issues, players, and events.
• Excellent editorial judgment and knowledge of current events and politics.
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment under pressure.
• Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
