About the position

The Politics Editor at Fox News Digital is responsible for leading the editorial direction and content generation related to political news across various digital platforms. This role involves collaborating with a team of editors and reporters to break news, secure exclusive interviews, and provide insightful analyses, all while managing tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Deputy Managing Editor, Politics and other editorial leaders on newsgathering and story advancement.
• Provide insights on story angles, exclusive interviews, and original content.
• Collaborate closely with Managing Editor, Politics on editorial projects and series.
• Develop interesting Politics story angles and ideas for Digital platforms.
• Engage with Politics and News desk on story advancement through new interviews.
• Lead trainings and create best practices for the editorial team.
• Write and edit content under tight deadlines when necessary.
• Monitor news and social media for breaking news and trending items.
• Collaborate with FOX News Channel and other FOX News Media colleagues.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience in a political or news environment.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with reviewing and analyzing data and taking action.
• Extensive Rolodex of contacts and sources for original reporting.
• Experience in managing and mentoring team members.
• Excellent editorial judgment and knowledge of current events and politics.
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment under pressure.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves
