About the position

The Editor, SEO at Fox News Digital will be responsible for developing and executing SEO strategies to enhance organic traffic for FoxNews.com and FoxBusiness.com. This role requires a fast and accurate writer with a strong understanding of SEO across various topics, including politics, business, entertainment, and global affairs. The position involves working collaboratively with editorial teams to implement SEO best practices and optimize content for search engines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Fox News' SEO strategies to boost organic users, visits, page views, and time on site.
  • Support weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual SEO goals, driving growth across all platforms.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate SEO best practices at all levels to support organic traffic growth.
  • Monitor and update legacy content for search optimization, working with editors on evergreen content across Fox News verticals.
  • Track keyword rankings and daily news trends, identifying and fixing technical SEO issues.
  • Utilize tools like Trisolute, Google Trends, and Google Search Console to monitor and improve SERP positions.
  • Provide real-time SEO input to editors/reporters by monitoring the editorial pitch queue.
  • Make editorial recommendations based on performance trackers to increase traffic.
  • Stay updated on industry changes in SEO and communicate new trends to management.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the competitive media landscape.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of SEO experience in a digital news operation with significant organic growth.
  • Proven examples of successful SEO projects in real-time and over longer periods.
  • Experience in high-volume, high-pressure editorial environments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across editorial departments.
  • Thorough understanding of SEO techniques, tools, and digital channels including Google Trends and Google Search Console.
  • Advanced knowledge of web analytics platforms.
  • Passion for SEO-driven results and the news industry.
  • Excellent time management skills, organized, detail-oriented, and reliable with a positive attitude.
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
