About the position
The Lead Writer/Editorial Manager for Vanguard's Financial Advisor Services (FAS) Marketing team will oversee a team of writers and copy editors, crafting compelling narratives for Financial Advisors. This role focuses on showcasing Vanguard's thought leadership, investment products, and financial planning tools across various marketing channels. The manager will guide the team in their professional development, ensure quality control, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and Vanguard's offerings.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of writers and copy editors, providing guidance and training as necessary.
- Hire, evaluate, and supervise team members, setting performance standards and making informed compensation decisions.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of various industries and Vanguard products to support the team.
- Set priorities to balance workload and adjust resources as necessary.
- Ensure quality control and timely delivery of content produced by the team.
- Report metrics on quality, productivity, and other related team activities.
- Consult with leaders and subject matter experts on communications and content strategies.
- Pitch new ideas and find creative ways to tell Vanguard's story using advanced subject matter expertise.
- Utilize metrics and analytics to inform content strategies and decisions.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of related work experience, including quality control and timely delivery for content.
- Experience presenting content and design solutions to project teams, partners, and senior management.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience; graduate degree preferred.
- Experience hiring, evaluating, and leading others is highly preferred.
