The Aerospace Applications Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the sales force from a technical application engineering perspective, focusing primarily on aerospace engine component manufacturing. This includes performing test cuts, conducting machine demonstrations, and providing customer startup training. The position is centered around multi-axis (3, 4, and 5 axis) EDM machining techniques, working with some of the most advanced machines in the industry. The engineer will be responsible for supporting a specific customer in the Asheville area, ensuring that they receive the technical assistance needed to optimize their manufacturing processes. In this role, the engineer will perform test cuts and machine demonstrations specifically for aerospace parts, particularly turbine engine components. They will provide applications engineering support by visiting customer facilities, assisting with potential machine and turnkey proposals, and generating NC programs. The engineer will also be involved in setting up machines, building tooling, conducting prove-outs, and completing test cut requests that arise from sales inquiries, ultimately leading to machine orders. Additionally, the engineer will conduct customer startup training and transfer technical knowledge at customer facilities, supporting turnkey execution activities as needed.
