About the position

The Diesel Mechanic position at R.S. Audley, Inc. involves repairing and maintaining mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems for construction equipment. The role requires a highly developed mechanical background and the ability to work with various types of heavy machinery. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for completing work orders, documenting maintenance history, and ensuring equipment functionality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Complete work orders and document maintenance history accurately and timely.
• Perform repair and preventative maintenance on power tools used on construction sites.
• Communicate with the Maintenance Manager regarding equipment damage.
• Request parts as necessary to complete repairs and maintenance of equipment.
• Conduct heavy equipment functionality, use, and safety tests.

Requirements

• Experience in examining, questioning, evaluating, and reporting on the performance of all heavy equipment.
• Highly developed mechanical background including work with various construction or heavy machinery, specifically repairing hydraulics, electric systems, and diesel engines.
• Extensive knowledge of construction or heavy equipment.
• Trade school certificate or equivalent experience preferred.
• Valid medical card and/or ability to pass DOT physical exam in order to obtain medical card.
• CDL preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience repairing and maintaining construction or heavy equipment or vehicles as a diesel mechanic.
• Valid driver's license.
