The Education & Infection Prevention Coordinator (RN) at Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Oklahoma City South is a full-time role focused on enhancing patient care through education and infection control. Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate education programs for staff, students, and volunteers.
  • Provide input into individual staff development during the orientation process.
  • Design individualized orientations based on specific positions and competency assessments.
  • Evaluate educational needs of staff through various methods including QI programs and annual needs assessments.
  • Drive and assume ownership of the Infection Control Plan and activities in the hospital.
  • Function as the content expert on Infection Prevention and Control, ensuring compliance with the plan.
  • Report infection surveillance and prevention information to appropriate staff and health authorities.
  • Assist in identifying, monitoring, and controlling outbreaks of nosocomial infections.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating, and evaluating educational activities for clinical personnel.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a bedside RN.
  • CPR/BCLS certification; ACLS preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Experience in infection control and prevention.
