About the position
The Education Instructor III-Radiography serves as the Clinical Coordinator for the Program in Diagnostic Medical Radiography at Harris Health System. This role involves teaching in continuous education programs for MRI and/or CT, overseeing student clinical education experiences, and collaborating with on-site technologists for student evaluations and supervision. The instructor is responsible for ensuring high-quality education and training for students in the field of radiography.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Clinical Coordinator for the Program in Diagnostic Medical Radiography.
- Teach courses in the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) or Computed Tomography (CT) continuing education programs.
- Oversee student clinical education experiences and clinical site placements.
- Conduct student evaluations and collaborate with on-site technologists for student progress and supervision.
- Ensure compliance with educational standards and program requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Advanced certification training in CAT Scan and/or MRI.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Radiologic Technologist with the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in CT and/or MRI preferred; must be dual certified within 2 years.
- Two years of clinical experience in the professional discipline.
- Above average verbal and writing communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
