About the position

The Education Programs Coordinator I position at the Agency of Education (AOE) focuses on supporting transformational change efforts through the Vermont Multi-tiered System of Supports (VTmtss) Framework. This role involves collaborating with various teams to enhance educational systems, ensuring that all students' social, emotional, mental health, and academic needs are met. The coordinator will provide technical assistance and support on various topics, including discipline, bullying prevention, and community engagement, while also contributing to systemic improvement efforts that address the needs of under-represented student populations.

Responsibilities

  • Support transformational change efforts using the VTmtss Framework.
  • Provide high-quality technical assistance on systems improvement to district and school-level teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-divisional and inter-agency teams to align improvement efforts within Vermont school systems.
  • Provide content expertise and guidance focused on tiered support systems and preventive practices.
  • Analyze educational systems data to identify trends and outcomes.
  • Lead and facilitate systems change and continuous improvement initiatives in an educational setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, public administration, or related field.
  • Four years or more at a professional level in education, program development, or leadership role in a public or private educational institution.
  • Three years or more of experience as an Education Consultant II with the State of Vermont.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree.
  • Content area expertise related to district level change management/leadership, positive school climate, special education, or early education.
