About the position

Responsible for working with children within an elementary and middle school setting who have disabilities including cognitive, emotional, or physical disabilities. Teach disabled youth life skills, basic literacy, and modify general education curriculum to meet a child's needs. Consult with administration, teachers, parents, and agency personnel to support the needs of children at AACA.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A valid California credential authorizing services as a special education teacher.
  • Certification in Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI).
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Experience with students with cognitive, emotional, social, or physical disabilities in an elementary school setting.
  • Live Scan clearance with the CA Department of Justice.
  • CPR certification.
