About the position

The Education Specialist at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of the Pediatric Residency Program. This position involves managing resident recruitment, orientation, and curriculum design, requiring a blend of strategic thinking and operational expertise. The specialist will work closely with program leadership and faculty, ensuring effective communication and support for residents while contributing to the continuous improvement of graduate medical education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the chief residents in creating the annual resident schedule.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining the Y Block and overall curriculum design.
  • Coordinate Global Health Track (GHT) rotations with chief residents and the Director of the GHT.
  • Communicate with lead faculty at various global health sites.
  • Collaborate with the residency GH education lead to plan educational sessions for residents in the GHT.
  • Coordinate and schedule pre-engagement preparatory sessions for residents participating in GH rotations.
  • Track required documentation for travel and scholarly output.
  • Partner with administrators in the Global Health Center to plan the annual Global Health graduation.
  • Assist with outcome and data collection related to the department's education mission.
  • Run and interpret data reports using Excel and other technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • At least five (5) years of executive support and overall coordination experience required.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and administration principles.
  • Knowledge of ACGME, ECFMG, Federation of State Medical Boards, and PA State Board of Medicine requirements.
  • Knowledge of USIA (ECFMG) requirements for physician Visas.
  • Knowledge of ERAS, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access Software programs.
  • Knowledge of JCAHO rules and regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong writing and reading aptitude.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to handle confidential materials and matters.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects independently and simultaneously.
